Austerity breeds creativity...

And this brings us to our last release of 2013. It has been a very good year for Good Street Records and, in particular, Ventah. Rounding off the year for Good Street is his 'Austerity EP'.

These tracks were originally written in a short period of time between March - April 2013, and have been revisited countless times since. Blending Juke, Footwork, Jungle, House and Garage, these three tracks represent a time when Ventah was getting to grips with the 160 vibe, and experimenting heavily with mixing different styles at 160bpm.

'Throw My Money' has influences from House and Jungle, and features a call-and-response between 808 congas and an arpeggiated house bassline. 'Roll With This' features an acapella from an obscure 1996 hip-hop release, and 'Breathe' is a track that lets you do just that. Chilled vibes and big bass.
